10th E-BISS International Postal Delivery Workshop, 1-3 June 2010, Ghent Belgium

E-BISS International just got its 10th International Postal Delivery workshop last week in Ghent (Belgium) with following participants: Belgian Post (host), Post Denmark (Posten Norden), Deutsche Post, La Poste, Norway Post, Royal Mail, Sweden Post, Swiss Post and SCM, private postal operator in Mexico. We learned how Posts are organizing themselves to respond to get their delivery network going inspite the drop of mail volume (the USO gets a new definition). We hear how sequence sorting gets optimized so that manual sequencing in Delivery offices is no longer necessary. The trend of most posts is to keep FTE in Delivery and not to go for parttiming. And LEAN is back, a methodology to keep things simple and easy so that rework can be eliminated! And last but not least, this workshop convinced us that the postal organizations need a professional operational benchmark audit like we (E-BISS) did recently in Mexico. If you like to know more about the latter, let me know.
